How to clear your browser cache

It may be necessary to clear your browser cache for some of Richmond's latest updates to take effect in your browser.

Follow the instructions for your browser:

 

Internet Explorer 11:

  1. Click the menu icon on the top right corner. 
  2. Select Safety and then Delete browsing history. You can also open this window by holding CTRL + SHIFT + DEL.
  3. Uncheck all the options except Temporary Internet files and website files.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. Close and reopen the browser.

Internet Explorer 9 and 10:

  1. Click the menu icon on the top right corner. 
  2. Select Internet Options. You can also open this window by holding CTRL + SHIFT + DEL.
  3. On the General tab, click Delete in the Browsing History section.
  4. Clear all of the check boxes except Temporary Internet Files and Cookies.
  5. Click Delete and then click OK.
  6. Close and reopen the browser.

Internet Explorer 8:

  1. In the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
  2. On the General tab, click Delete in the Browsing History section. You can also open this window by holding CTRL + SHIFT + DEL.
  3. Clear all of the check boxes except Temporary Internet Files and Cookies.
  4. Click Delete and then click OK.
  5. Close and reopen the browser.

Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Click the Open menu icon in the top right of the browser. 
  2. Click History.
  3. Select Clear Recent History. You can also open this window by holding CTRL + SHIFT + DEL.
  4. In the Time range to clear dropdown, select Everything.
  5. Click the boxes next to Cookies and Cache.
  6. Click Clear Now.
  7. Close and reopen the browser.

Safari:

  1. In the Safari menu at the top of the screen, click Edit.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Privacy at the top of the window that opens. You can also open this window by holding CTRL + SHIFT + DEL.
  4. Click the Remove All Website Data button and then click Remove Now.
  5. Close the pop-up window.
  6. Close and reopen the browser.

Chrome:

  1. Click the menu icon on the top right corner. 
  2. Select Tools and then Clear browsing data. You can also open this window by holding CTRL + SHIFT + DEL.
  3. From the Obliterate the following items from menu, select the beginning of time.
  4. Check the boxes for Cached images and files and Cookies and other site and plug-in data and uncheck all the other boxes.
  5. Click Clear browsing data.
  6. Close and reopen the browser.
